The
D-Cycle completes 4 piston strokes, differential in both time
and displacement per revolution of the crankshaft. Thus, a 3-cylinder
D-Cycle can drive like a 6-cylinder Traditional 4-Cycle.
Traditional
4-Cycle
Since
the Traditional 4-Cycle requires 2 revolutions of the crankshaft
to complete the thermal cycle, it only produces power every other
revolution.
